Multiplayer Guide for Sins of a Solar Empire II
Basic Creation
To create a new game, navigate to the "Multiplayer" tab and click the "+" button. You will be redirected to a new screen where you can select options for your game. The first setting is the game mode, which is set to "Multiplayer". Click "Next" to proceed.
A new screen will appear, displaying different options for your game. The first option, "New Game", allows you to start a new game with your own parameters. The second option, "Hosts", allows you to host a game where other players can join. The third option is a list of all games currently available online, where you can join an existing game as a spectator or player.
On the "New Game" screen, there is a button labeled "House Rules", which is a crucial aspect of multiplayer play. This button allows you to set default settings for your game, such as setting the game to last x minutes, or setting the starting warpgate to a specific coordinate.
Hotseat
Now, let’s talk about "Hot Seat". This feature allows you to pause or restart a game at any moment, and then continue playing it from where you left off, even if you disconnected from the network. This feature is especially useful for intense games where you need to pause suddenly.
Game Creation Options
When creating a new game, you have several options to customize. Under the "Game Options" tab, there are several settings you can adjust. The AI can be set to take the place of a player, or you can include a random player to fill up spaces. You can also set the pause timer to a specific time, the game speed, and the difficulty.
Host Lobby
When the lobby is created, you will see a new icon labeled "Host Lobby". You can click on this icon to take control of the lobby. The hotseat feature is available in the game, and you can use it to pause, restart, or restart a saved game.
Captain Selection Process
In the "Captain Select" process, two captains are selected from players who have joined the game, depending on their skills and the number of credits they have. The captains then go on to select their own players before the game begins.
